Interim Senior Pastor - Peter Van Donge

Peter van Donge has been a Baptist pastor since 1978. In that time, he has been the Senior Pastor of Annerley and Wynnum Baptist Churches. Though retired from fulltime ministry, Peter trained as an international Interim Pastor and has ministered in this capacity in Gympie, Tin Can Bay and Mapleton. He is presently oversighting the ministry program at NEB and seeking to assist the leadership and congregation to secure the services of an appropriate new senior pastor. He is married to Gloria, has two adult children and lives on the Sunshine Coast.
 

 

CHILDREN'S & FAMILIES PASTOR - CATHY LESLIE

Cathy has been a part of NEB since 2001 and in that time has been involved in many aspects of church life including youth and children's ministry, mission and outreach events, prayer, home groups, pastoral care, worship and preaching. Prior to becoming a pastor at NEB Cathy was involved in school chaplaincy at both primary and high schools for 8 years. She is married to Adam and has two sons, Daniel and Sam. When at all possible Cathy can be found in the great outdoors, on a beach or a bike, playing a bit of sport or wandering through a park.

Youth Pastor - Karen Haynes

Karen came to North-East as the Youth and Young Adults Pastor in 2007. She is also responsible for communications and events in the church.   She is passionate about seeing people come to faith in Jesus and living lives that make a difference in this world.  She studied Business at QUT before her current study of a Master of Divinity.  When she isn't working or studying she can usually be found in one of Brisbane's coffee shops reading or catching up with friends.

 

Administrator - Anne Foster

Anne is married to John, a paramedic at QAS. She has 3 children, Stuart and twins Michele and Andrew and 2 grandchildren. Anne studied Microbiology and worked at several laboratories in Brisbane but left to become a full time mother. She completed a Certificate in Early Childhood Studies and worked for a short time until she realised that working with 25 Preschoolers through the day and coming home to 3 more was more than her patience and tolerance could bear.

Anne has been the Administrator of NEB since 1999. Her interests include tennis, crosswords, Curves, walking and reading. She has a Tenterfield Terrier called Cassie who the children think has replaced them in her life. They could be right as Cassie is cute, inexpensive and undemanding, something they never were.

 

Loosends Coordinator - Wendy Brayshaw

Wendy is married to Alan and they have three children and two grandchildren. Her job is to care for the 100+ children and 10+ staff who make up Loosends Outside School Hours Care. When not worrying about Loosends she enjoys gardening and going to Curves. Her ambition is to travel to Europe again.

 

Office Volunteer - Garry Hamilton

Garry is a qualified librarian and devotes his talents to helping out in the office three days a week. His interests include movies, American cars and classical guitar. His ambition is to star in his own action movie.
