History
The first non-convict European settlement in Queensland was by 11
German missionaries and their families in Nundah in 1838. They had
left their families and traveled half way around the world to tell
a people about the love of God. Later in 1884 Jireh Baptist Church
commenced services in Nundah in the tradition of these German Missionaries
The Nundah Baptist Church formed in 1888 and began to reach out to
people who did not know the love of God.
Faithful Leaders
o Reverend Alfred Shaw - first full time minister (1883-1901)
o Rev. AG Weller O.M., Pastor of Nundah Baptist Church when the Memorial building was completed in 1923
o Reverend Ian Hussey, BSc, DipEd, B.Th.(Hons), Grad.Theol., MMgt, PhD (cand) 1993-2010. .
The Baptists in Nundah planted three churches between 1950 and 1969
o Banyo Baptist Church (architect was Mr. Ray Smith from Nundah Baptist).
o Wavell Heights Baptist Church
o Stafford Heights Baptist Church
Literally thousands of people have been touched by Christ through the Baptists of Nundah.
The old Memorial Church was demolished for the Nundah by-pass tunnel

Property
The property is bound by Boyd Rd., Chapel Street and Bage Street. The two properties in Boyd Road No. 12 & 14 are rented out. The church no longer owns a manse.
